"Oceanside on May 15th" by David Castle.
View from one of my most favorite spots on the planet: Oceanside, Oregon. On May 15th, 2026, a storm out at sea slides across the ever-present horizon line between the sky and Pacific.
- Part of my new Squares series. It took me just over 20 years to get back here. Starting with my Elemental squares (2005), then to lines (2015) and on to Circles (2023), I’m now back to Squares (2025). Seeing this path from a high level, I feel like I may be on a quest for the most perfect shape. I’m uncertain if I’ve discovered it.
- This oil and metallic watercolor painting on paper is mounted on gallery panel (1.5" deep) and sealed with varnish that contains UV filters for protection from light damage.
