"Forbidden Forest" by David Castle
This painting features twenty five of my "floating" circles - each individually painted on a square of watercolor paper and mounted to panel. I thought about the moss-soaked coastal forests of central Oregon as I painted all of these floating circles. The cool, shadowy depths feel a bit mysterious and forbidden. I added highlights of metallic coppers to complement the greens.
- This oil and metallic watermedia painting on paper is mounted on gallery panel (1.5" deep) and sealed with varnish that contains UV filters for protection from light damage.
